SKINERGIA: Silver-age Cosmetic Ingredients – Novel Recombinant Enzymes for the Management of Irritated Skin in the Elderly

The innovative core of the SKINERGIA project lies in the combination of two recombinant enzymes within a single product designed for the treatment of irritated and fragile skin. On one hand, CeraKnight promotes the restoration of the skin barrier by stimulating the synthesis of epidermal lipids; on the other, LenEasy®, a soothing polypeptide developed by TRANSACTIVA, modulates pro-inflammatory cytokines, helping to reduce skin inflammation. Their synergistic action is particularly promising for elderly skin, which is often prone to dryness, itching, inflammation, and fragility due to reduced ceramide synthesis and the accumulation of oxidative stress. SKINERGIA therefore represents an ambitious project that integrates biotechnological innovation, sustainability, and industrial vision, with the aim of developing an effective and safe dermocosmetic product.
